That’s How to Dance the Waltz!

The creation of the new work That’s How to Dance the Waltz is related to my experience at the Sansusī welfare residence programme, where I have regularly met senior citizens over a long period of time at the social care centre and discovered their courageous and slightly crazy free spirit. Clumsy overly audacious steps are often followed by punishment, inevitable injuries and recrimination. It is easier to unseat the unstable than hold it supportively. From time to time in my life and works of art, I try to create a space, where the fragile can afford to fall. This performance, video, sound and object installation has been created in collaboration with composer Alise Rancāne.
