Performance “Noose Intro” by Erik Alalooga
‘Noose Intro’ is an anagram of „Noise Or Not” – a previous title of artist’s sound-performance series. It could as well be ‘Nose On Riot’ or ‘One I On Sort’. Despite of pointlessness ‘Noose Intro’ represents quite precisely Erik’s composing-method – based on intuition, irrational decisions and denial of cultural prototypes. Music – it is the strength of materials, a sign of deformation, a constriction of poetry through natural sciences, a functional ergonomics of body-movements, an arbitrary implementation of error, a superiority of DIY philosophy and a brutal force.
Erik Alalooga is a freelance performance director, performer, sound artist, teacher and cultural manager living in Tallinn, Estonia.
“Kunst oder Unfall” electroacoustic poetry performance
‘Kunst oder Unfall’ (Art or Accident) electro-acoustic poetry performance. ‘Kunst oder Unfall’ performances bring together different art forms – music, poetry, installation and video, responding in unique ways to particular characteristics of different venues and their surrounding context. At the core of ‘Kunst order Unfall’ is the artist couple – Kalle and Augusta Lāri. During the white night, this duo were joined by Liāna Langa and Inguna Rubene (known as a member of the band “19 gadi pirms sākuma” (19 Years Before the Beginning) and NSRD (Restoration Workshop of Unprecedented Feelings)).
Liāna Langa is a Latvian poet and publicist, founder and editor of the literature magazine “Latvju teksti“ (Latvian Texts). As part of this performance, her spoken word fused with a soundscape created by other performers. Inguna Rubene took part in with bassoon and flute improvisations. The performance had a minimal structure, some of the sound material had been created especially for the performance in Riga and incorporates fragments from the NSRD recordings.
The performance was realised in collaboration with the Poetry Days 2015.
