Exhibition at the Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum
20 February 2026 – 19 April 2026
The contemporary art exhibition "Ghosts of Impossible Present" explores the imprints of ecological crises on the human body and the impact of Anthropocene-induced consequences on human health.
The exhibition’s artists – Linda Boļšakova, Liene Pavlovska, Līva Dudareva, Kristina Olleka and Egle Budvītīte – will work with the collection of the Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum, seeking references to Soviet-era evidence of the body’s interaction with the harmful effects of ecologically damaged environments on human health. At the same time, the artists will develop new ways of reimagining how the museum’s collection can be made accessible to a broader public.
