The Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art project “Safe Zones and Shifting Timelines” is an interdisciplinary series of events that addresses the fragile relationships between institutional archives and collections, collective memory, and changing political situations in the Baltic region. The project is curated by Andra Silapētere.
At the centre of the programme in 2026 are three discussion workshops with participants from the Baltic States, the Czech Republic, and Poland, complemented by artistic interventions in the LCCA archive and library by Luīze Rukšāne, Rūdolfs Štamers, and Sabīne Šnē.
Each successive artistic intervention in the LCCA archive and library builds on the previous ones, forming a collective presentation that is on view until 30 September 2026 at the LCCA archive and library (Alberta Street 13, 7th floor), from Wednesday to Friday, 12:00–18:00. Admission is free.
