The Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art invites anyone who wishes to gain experience in organizing an international contemporary art festival to join the volunteer team of Survival Kit 17. Applications are open until 30 July.
Volunteering will provide:
- Diverse experience and practical skills in implementing a large-scale art event;
- Knowledge about contemporary art and its production processes;
- An opportunity to meet both international and local art professionals.
Volunteering will include:
- Assisting the artists of Survival Kit 17;
- Working on festival installation and/or de-installation;
- Assisting in organizing public program events;
- Supervising the exhibition venue and communicating with visitors;
- Distributing festival communication materials.
The work will be organized in three time blocks:
- Festival installation (before opening: 10.08.–26.08.2026);
- Festival duration (27.08.–27.09.2026);
- Festival de-installation (after closing: 28.09.–5.10.2026).
Important information:
- Preferred participant age: 16+;
- Volunteer work can be formalized as an internship;
- From mid-August to early October, it is desirable to dedicate at least 20 hours to the festival;
- It is recommended to apply for full time blocks to ensure smooth work planning.
