The evening at bar “1983” will begin with the voguing performance Elements of a Feeling, dedicated to the figure of the Simurgh, created in collaboration between Latvian dancer Ivo Krieviņš and fashion designer Jānis Norberts Krauja. Jānis’s collection Eggs on Legs is a result of his studies in Amsterdam.
The performance Elements of a Feeling is based on the story of all the birds of the world searching for a spiritual leader — the Simurgh — only to discover that the true Simurgh is the feeling that lives within each of them. Similarly, in voguing dance, the inner feeling is just as essential — without it, the dance is lifeless and loses its meaning.
The performance will unfold in three stages of development: from unconsciousness and the initial awareness of self, through childlike excitement and self-discovery, arriving at self-confidence and the revelation of the “feeling” within. Each stage of development is autonomous and equally important.
The performance will feature dancers of the new generation: Ivo Krieviņš, Madara Anna Baltiņa, and Veronika Diklaba.
“KLIK KLAK” queer techno dance night

Bar “1983”
“KLIK KLAK” is a queer techno club night series that has taken place in Riga for the past ten years with the aim of creating a safe and free space for the community. “KLIK KLAK” has become a platform that introduces and connects local artists, DJs, and performers, while also building and strengthening ties between queer communities across the Baltics.
Participation in the mask-making workshop and attendance at the voguing show are free of charge.
