Monika Grūzīte

Follow Daily

Newspaper, 2011

Daily users of Facebook, Twitter or Foursquare, have grown accustomed to those environments – their limitations, the laconic and standardised phrases: messages about a changed status, new friendships or new locations. Follow Daily is a commentary – a future scenario of how social media will affect the textual and visual language of newspapers. The proportion of picture and text is reversed from what is customary for the newspapers from two decades ago; what helps orient the reader are icons borrowed from social networks. The latest issue of Follow Daily makes us believe, that Monika Grūzīte’s envisaged future is nearing.
