Over the course of the workshop, Israeli artist Omer Krieger invited us to take part in public space interventions designed to test various ways of creating situations that were based on political activism. Participants created forms and structures using their bodies and specific elements of stage design as their main instruments.
The presence of political activity may be conflicting, provocative and exciting. It is a collective practice that subjects common place and time. Human chain, circle, conversation, a new kind of demonstration - a political dance with the city.
Multimedia artist Omer Krieger explores public experiences and collective situations, as well as aesthetics of the state, political theatre and beauty of conflict. He is a co-founder and head (2006-2011) of the performative research group Public Movement. In 2011, Krieger was nominated artistic director of the New Public Art School and festival "Under the Mountain" (Jerusalem).
