The main event of Applethink was a creative camp with the apple as the centre of interest. We started with the process of traditional fermenting, brewing, juicing and preserving, ending up with experimental investigations: can an apple be a transmitter of energy? How can one build a "bacteria-battery" from apple-waste? How can apple-electricity signals be interpreted through sonification and visualisation?
The Applethink event also included presentations and discussions by artists, curators, scientific researchers and the community. The camp ended with a local outdoor market hosted along local farmers, where artefacts created during the event were put out for a symbolic sale-exhibition.
