The Sarcophagus (II)

The Sarcophagus (II) is a situation in which guidelines are provided for the collecting of mushrooms. Visitors are given instructions, acquainted with real and artificial examples of mushrooms, and introduced to the best places for carrying out mushroom harvests. In receiving this knowledge, the visitors become fully fledged mushroom collectors.
Artist's bio
Artist Andrej Polukord (b. 1990, Vilnius, Lithuania) is currently living in Vienna and Vilnius. He graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts and Printmaking Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and since 2014 has run Galerie Uberall, witch bases itself in locations all over the world. His creative practice involves painting, installation, performance and video art – all of which he uses to create unpredictable environments and absurd situations that produce double meanings and ambiguity. Polukord works in and with environments that he either creates or finds within both urban and rural settings. He is especially interested in generating unpredictability and a sense of surprise, and perceives absurd situations to be fundamentally enriching to everyday life.
