Paths to Inner Power III

Paths to Inner Power III is an installation consisting of photography, collages, sea shells, crystals, other found objects, sculptures, textile and printed matter. This new work, produced especially for SURVIVAL KIT 9, examined desire as a crucial element of spiritual transformation. It was exhibited in the library of the former Faculty of Biology of the University of Latvia.
Artist's bio
The artist Lotta Antonsson (b. 1963, Varberg, Sweden) divides her time between Falkenberg, Sweden and Berlin, Germany. She was regarded a pioneer of photography at the beginning of the 90s, when it was introduced to the Nordic contemporary art scene. Antonsson was a professor at the University of Gothenburg from 2007 to 2016 and has been an important inspiration and influence for an entire generation of artists and photographers. Her work mainly takes the form of photography, collage or installations. She moves within a political and feminist field and often investigates themes such as gender, representation and objectification. The artist is currently planning a large retrospective exhibition at the Halland Art Museum in Sweden. Antonsson is represented by, among others, the Moderna Museet and the Halland Art Museum, and recently published the monograph I Am A Woman (Art and Theory publishing, 2016).
